About Us

Who we are

pcbyvoice has been helping people gain independence through assistive technology since 2010.

Founded by the inspirational Lindsay Adam, a C3 quadriplegic, our mission is simple: to help people control their lives through bespoke environmental control and integrated home automation solutions.

We work closely with equipment users, occupational therapists, case managers and assistive technology engineers across organisations such as the NHS, local authorities, charities, care homes and building adaptation contractors. As such, we always strive to develop solutions tailored to individual requirements.

What sets us apart is our commitment to three core values:

  • Independence: Enabling people to take control of their environment
  • Inclusivity: Making technology accessible to everyone
  • Innovation: Continuously developing better solutions

Our founder's legacy

Lindsay Adam was a C3 motor and sensory complete quadriplegic following a road traffic accident in 1995, who refused to let physical limitations define what was possible.

Drawing on his extensive 30-year background in computing and his first-hand experience with assistive technology, he transformed challenges into opportunities to help others with conditions including spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, motor neurone disease, and muscular dystrophy.

Lindsay was more than our founder – he championed assistive technology. He used his 30 years of experience in the computing industry to customise speech recognition software and other assistive technology devices. He was recognised as an expert and moderator on the world's largest speech recognition forum.

Lindsay developed speech recognition software applications that allow advanced hands-free operation of different computing functions that are used by hundreds of people - both disabled and able-bodied - throughout the world.

Continuing his great work

Although we are deeply saddened by Lindsay's passing in 2023, his legacy lives on in every aspect of our work.

Our team remains dedicated to Lindsay’s vision of helping people become more independent by making technology accessible to everyone who needs it.

We believe in fostering and supporting independence, inclusivity and innovation.
